There's always something new going on at 6abc. This week, we continue our efforts with ACCUfact, which features our Chief Meteorologist Cecily Tynan giving viewers short 30-second facts about weather. Katelyn and I got a chance to sit in on the shoot and assist Mara in producing the spot.
In addition to the spot, Katelyn and I were given another assignment that will last throughout the entire month of April. The creative services team introduced us to POP's -- Proof of Performance spots-- where we collect tid bits from newscasts throughout the week to produce an "end of the week" promo that showcases how diligent our news team has been over the duration of the week. It is my job to collect that footage each day and cut video that I believe would make the team look good in a promo. For this month, we're showcasing the morning news team. I learned that many people think the morning news is meant to be light and transitional, but there certainly is a lot of news that breaks over night. Morning news is definitely underrated in some senses. As far as creative services is concerned, it is our job to showcase the morning news in a different light. One that is fast-paced, breaking, and cutting edge.
On another note, my demo reel is coming along fine and should be ready in a few short weeks.
Those were my highlights throughout the week. Now for some topicals.
